1. About these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Reality AI LLC (“Reality AI”, “we”, “us”) about your use of the RealityPal Android app, the RealityPal web app, this website and related services (together, the “Service”). Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and forms part of these Terms.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be excluded by contract.
2. Who can use RealityPal
- You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) to use the Service. It isn’t directed at children, and we’ll close accounts we believe belong to someone under 18.
- You must be able to form a binding contract and not be barred from using the Service under applicable law.
- The Service is currently offered only in the United States.
3. Your account
- You need an account to use the Service. Give accurate information and keep your email address up to date so you can receive verification and security emails.
- Your account is personal to you. Don’t share it, sell it or let others use it.
- Keep your password safe. We recommend turning on two-step sign-in. Tell us promptly at support@realitypal.ai if you think someone else has accessed your account.
- You’re responsible for activity on your account unless it results from our failure to protect it.
4. Your Pal is an AI
- Pals are AI characters, not people. Aria, Mina and any other Pal are fictional characters. Their replies, voice, expressions, reminders and translations are generated automatically by AI models. No human is writing their messages.
- AI can be wrong. Replies and translations may be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date or inappropriate, and they don’t reflect the views of Reality AI. Check anything important yourself.
- Not professional advice. The Service is for companionship, entertainment and everyday organisation. It doesn’t provide medical, mental-health, legal, financial or other professional advice, and it isn’t a substitute for a qualified professional.
- Not an emergency or crisis service. If you or someone else is in danger, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line straight away.
- Reminders and translations are best effort. Notifications can be delayed or missed (for example if your phone is offline or notifications are blocked). Don’t rely on the Service for medication, safety-critical or time-critical reminders, or for translation where accuracy matters (such as medical or legal conversations).
5. Plans, subscriptions and billing
5.1 Plans
RealityPal has a Free plan and paid plans (currently Basic, Standard, Advanced, Pro and Pro+). What each plan includes, and its allowances, are described on our plans overview and in the app. The Free plan has no charge.
5.2 Buying through Google Play
- Paid plans are sold only in the Android app, through Google Play Billing. Google processes your payment under the Google Play Terms of Service, and we never receive your card details. The web app doesn’t sell plans.
- The price, billing period (monthly or yearly), taxes and currency are shown in Google Play before you confirm. Prices may vary by country.
- A plan you buy is linked to your RealityPal account and applies when you sign in on Android or on the web.
5.3 Automatic renewal and cancellation
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period, at the then-current price, until you cancel.
- Cancel any time in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, or from the Manage subscription link in the app. After you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for, then your account moves to the Free plan.
- Deleting your account doesn’t cancel your subscription. Cancel it in Google Play to stop future charges.
- Upgrades, downgrades and plan changes are handled by Google Play, including any proration it applies.
5.4 Free trial
Some plans may offer a free trial for new subscribers (currently a 7-day free trial of Basic, Standard or Advanced, one free trial per account). Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription starts automatically and you’ll be charged the price shown in Google Play. Trial eligibility is decided by Google Play.
5.5 Refunds
Payments are processed by Google Play, and refunds are handled by Google under Google Play’s standard refund policy. You can request a refund through Google Play. We don’t provide separate refunds, except where required by law.
5.6 Price changes
We may change subscription prices. Google Play will notify you in advance, as its policies require, and where required you’ll need to accept the new price before it applies. If you don’t want to pay the new price, you can cancel before it takes effect.
6. Unlimited chat, Lite mode and fair use
Chat is unlimited on every plan, subject to the following:
- Full-quality replies and Lite mode. Each day, your first replies (the number depends on your plan: currently 15 on Free, 40 on Basic, 30 on Standard, 60 on Advanced, 80 on Pro and 150 on Pro+) are generated by our full-quality AI model. Standard and higher plans use a more advanced full-quality model; the models we use may change over time. After that, your Pal keeps chatting using a lighter “Lite” model until your local midnight. Lite replies may be shorter or less capable. The app tells you when she switches and marks Lite replies.
- Fair-use ceiling. To prevent abuse by bots and scripts, there’s a daily ceiling on chat messages (currently 300 on Free, 400 on Basic, 500 on Standard, 750 on Advanced, 1,000 on Pro and 1,500 on Pro+) and a limit on messages per minute (currently 6 on Free and 20 on paid plans). Translations have their own counter with the same limits. When you reach a limit, you’ll need to wait until it resets.
- Monthly allowances. Voice replies and hands-free translation minutes are monthly allowances, reset at the start of your local month. When a voice allowance runs out, replies continue as text. Unused allowances don’t roll over.
- Other limits. Some features have their own limits (for example the number of active reminders and routines, check-in messages per day, and requests per minute for photos and your own AI agents).
- Changes. We may adjust allowances and limits to keep the Service reliable and affordable. We won’t materially reduce the allowances of a paid plan you’re subscribed to without at least 30 days’ notice, and you can cancel before the change applies.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to, or try to:
- break the law, or violate anyone’s rights (including privacy, publicity and intellectual property rights);
- create, request or share sexual content involving minors, or any sexual or sexualised content involving real people without their consent;
- harass, threaten, bully, defame or impersonate anyone, or promote hate or violence;
- get help planning or carrying out serious harm, including to yourself; if you’re struggling, please reach out to someone you trust or a crisis line;
- trick, “jailbreak” or manipulate a Pal into producing content that breaks these rules, or deliberately bypass safety features;
- send photos of other people, enrol other people for face recognition, or translate or listen to other people with the translator, without their agreement;
- use bots, scripts or automated means to access the Service, scrape it, or generate messages, or get around rate limits, allowances or plan restrictions;
- resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the Service or its output, or share your account;
- copy, extract, modify, reverse engineer or redistribute the app, its code, its AI prompts or its character models and artwork, except where the law expressly allows it;
- upload malware, probe or attack our systems, or interfere with the Service or other users;
- use the Service to develop a competing product or to train AI models.
We may remove content, limit features, or suspend, ban or close accounts that break these rules (see section 13).
8. Your content
- Yours stays yours. You keep the rights you have in the messages, photos and other content you send (“Your Content”).
- Permission to run the Service. You give Reality AI a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, transmit and display Your Content only as needed to provide, secure and support the Service, including sending it to our service providers as described in the Privacy Policy. This licence ends when Your Content is deleted, except for copies we’re legally required to keep.
- Your responsibility. You’re responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the right to share it.
- Pal replies. As between you and us, you may use your Pal’s replies for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. Similar replies may be generated for other users, and AI output may not be protected by copyright.
- No training on your chats. We don’t use your conversations to train AI models (see the Privacy Policy).
9. Optional features
- Ask Hermes and Ask OpenClaw. On plans that include them, you can connect a Hermes and/or OpenClaw agent that you run on your own computer. These agents are your software, not ours: you control what they can access and do, and you’re responsible for the actions they take and the services they connect to. Reality AI never connects to them directly.
- Calendar, camera, microphone and face features are optional and use your device’s permissions, which you can revoke at any time. Face recognition requires your explicit consent and runs only on your phone.
- Translator. The other person sees an on-screen notice that the conversation is being translated (and, in hands-free mode, that the app is listening). Only use it with people who agree.
- Third-party services (such as Google sign-in, Google Play, your calendar provider or your Hermes or OpenClaw setup) are governed by their own terms. We’re not responsible for them.
10. Reports and moderation
If a Pal’s reply is offensive, harmful or wrong, please report it in the app (long-press the message on Android, or use the message’s options menu on the web). Our moderation team reviews reports and uses them to improve safety. When you report a reply, a copy of it and any comments you add are shared with that team, as described in the Privacy Policy. We don’t monitor conversations in real time, and our staff can’t read your conversations, but we may review reported content and act on it, including under section 13.
11. Our intellectual property
The Service, including the app, website, software, designs, the RealityPal name and logo, and the Pals’ characters, artwork, animations and voices, belongs to Reality AI or its licensors (including the artists who created the character models, credited in the app) and is protected by law. We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own non-commercial use under these Terms. You don’t acquire any other rights.
If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without any obligation to you.
12. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why, who processes it, how long we keep it, and your rights. In short: your content is encrypted in transit and at rest with a personal key for your account, it is not end-to-end encrypted because our servers and AI providers must process it to reply, and deleting your account destroys your key.
13. Suspension and ending your account
13.1 If you want to leave
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (how to delete your account). Remember to cancel any Google Play subscription separately.
13.2 Suspensions and bans
If you break these Terms, we may suspend your account (temporarily, for a set period) or ban it (permanently). Reasons include:
- spam;
- harassment;
- fraud or payment abuse;
- abuse of the Service, such as using bots or scripts or getting around limits;
- other violations of these Terms, including the rules in section 7.
What we do depends on how serious the problem is and whether it keeps happening. We may also restrict features or close accounts if we must do so by law, or to prevent fraud or abuse or protect users, third parties or the Service. Where reasonable, we’ll tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
- What you’ll see if you’re suspended: you’re signed out. When you sign back in, the app tells you that your account is suspended, the general reason and when the suspension ends. Until then you can’t chat or use other features, and your Pal won’t send you reminders, routine messages or other notifications. Your account goes back to normal automatically when the suspension ends.
- What you’ll see if you’re banned: you can’t sign in (the app says the account is disabled), and the same email address can’t be used to create a new account. To enforce this, we keep a one-way, keyed hash of the email address, as described in the Privacy Policy.
- You can still delete your account and data. While suspended, you can delete it in the app. If a ban stops you signing in, use our account deletion page or email us from the address on your account.
- Subscriptions: a suspension or ban does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription. Cancel it in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions to stop future charges. Refunds are handled under Google Play’s refund policy (see section 5.5) and applicable law.
- Appeals: if you think we made a mistake, email support@realitypal.ai with your username. We’ll review it, and if we got it wrong we’ll lift the suspension or ban.
13.3 Closing accounts and the Service
- If we close your account without cause, or because we stop offering the Service, we’ll give you reasonable notice and, where required by law, a pro-rata refund of any prepaid period.
- When an account is deleted, the content stored with it is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as 8, 11, 14 to 17 and 19) survive.
- We may discontinue the Service, or a feature of it, with reasonable notice.
14. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We don’t promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that AI replies, reminders or translations will be accurate or delivered on time, or that any content will be kept. We disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the extent the law allows. Some jurisdictions don’t allow these exclusions, so some of them may not apply to you.
15. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law:
- Reality AI won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill or opportunity, arising from or related to the Service, or for decisions you make based on AI replies or translations.
- Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, and (b) US$50.
- Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that can’t be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
16. Indemnity
If you use the Service for business purposes, or to the extent permitted by the law where you live, you agree to defend and indemnify Reality AI against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state and federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts. If you’re a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer protection laws of your state of residence. Before starting proceedings, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally.
18. Changes to the Service and these terms
We’re improving RealityPal all the time, so features may change. We may update these Terms, for example to reflect new features or legal requirements. If a change is material, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after the change takes effect, the new Terms apply; if you don’t agree, you can stop using the Service, cancel your subscription and delete your account.
19. General
- Google. These Terms are between you and Reality AI, not Google. Google isn’t responsible for the Service or its content. Your purchases are also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
- Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- No waiver. If we don’t enforce a right straight away, we don’t give it up.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, with notice to you.
- Events beyond our control. We’re not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including outages at our service providers.
